  • Rear brake lamp (100Km!) : 12V 21/5w (Halfords 380)
  • Spark plug change : NGK DR8EA
  • Oil change : (Castrol 4-stroke "Power" 950ml 10-40w)
  • Clean air filter : And oil bath
  • Nut security : Rr shock loose RHS
  • Chain play and lubricate : 15mm-25mm
  • Rear brake adjust : Firmed up
  • Jubilee-style clips : security
  • Fuel pipe's found loose
  • Clutch free-play : Too much, adjusted
  • Throttle idle speed : 1400rpm to +/-900rpm
  • Lighting and switch check : NFTR
  • Muck-off protector : All surfaces
  • Tyre pressures : 28psi Front, 29psi Rear
  • Brake fluid check : Visual and function
  • Test drive : Excellent, still uneven

  • Clutch : Freed and re-adjusted
  • Fuel switch element : Cleaned
  • Brake fluid : Visual check and function
  • Tyre wear and pressure : 28psi front, 29psi rear

  • Front forks and shocks : Visual, security, and function
  • Body bolt and nut : NOTE
  • Chain play and lubricate : 15mm-25mm, Holts lube

NOTE: Couldn't complete as ignition fault necessary to chase first (notified LS Imports 14 June 08 by email)

I installed the Vantrue Falcon 1 motorcycle dash cam on Sherbert the Goldwing 2023 today. Picking up Sherbert

To recap, we'd been awake and travelling to Offenburg, Germany since 2:30 am. Bikemoto's offer of a free coffee felt overwhelmingly generous while we waited for Sherbert's paperwork to be readied. There was a hire agreement to cover our ride back to Ireland, the ownership documentation, Certificate of Compliance, manuals, sales agreements, and more. It all took time. All the time I was taking stock of the enormity of the day and second-guessing the plan. Self doubt I'd not ridden for nearly 5 years since fixing Arod's speedometer sensor and finding his fork seals were leaking. COVID 19 and working from home were little motivation to set things right. Now I am about to ride a new-to-me model of bike I've not ridden before. Sherbert is heavier than an ST1300, a weightier insurance liability, and has a dual clutch transmission (DCT).
